I had the same problem with Zupps Aspley too.. Ordered my car in early may and recieved it early august after being told I'd get it within a week! Never recieved any calls from them regarding when I'd have my car. Even when I'd call the sales person, he'd always have an excuse up his sleeve. 1 week went to 1 month then to another month and so on. Finally had enough of their sh!t and called holden head office and told them what was happening and since then, the salesman called me each time he knew anything
I ordered mine at an Adelaide dealer and was quoted 2 weeks for delivery, straight from the factory. I then had a call a few days later and it had already arrived with it being built in the same week it was delivered (i looked at the build date to confirm). It took longer for the dealer to do all the onroads then it took to order and get the car off the factory floor!
thats all fair enough, provided that the dealer tells you an ACCURATE delivery time. the compromise you speak of, should be made as part of the negotiation process- not after the fact. yes its car YOU want. but its also YOUR money. and its not fair that the dealer gets it under false pretences. "sure mate, i can get it for you in a week".... just in case you go to another dealer who's actually being honest with you, and says it might be a month or more. bottom line, ALWAYS get the dealer to quote a definite delivery date- and if this doesnt happen, what provisions are there for you (curtesy car, free 15000km service etc).
Same here I ordered a SV6 Manual on the 6th of July, to date no car. Situation is they say its the sat nab that has pushed it back so long, trouble is when I was negotiating the purchase they told me "theres one out back mate" Once you sign it's its game over, no calls, no further expiration. I pushed back a bit and they have come to the party, with Free servicing for 3 years and an extended warranty to 5 years. Pushed a little more and the cause of the issue, sat nab is now free also. I would give it to them a bit and see what happens
I ordered a Voodoo Blue SV6 Manual (salesman had a minor heart attack as most sold are auto & no manuals in voodoo in stock) MY10 Runout model from Von Bibra Robina(Gold Coast) had an auto in stock checked on manual stock & said had to do a deal with another dealer would be sorted within 5 days - was kept informed of progress & car delivered as promised
Intergallactic banking! I think that is the new NAB branch at the International Space Station, the first of many in their intergallactic expansion plans. They are expanding that direction because their international expansion efforts have been less than spectacularly successful.
Ever since I got paint on my clothes from a new F**d delivered straight from the factory, I have lost enthusiasm for "factory-fresh" cars. I have generally negotiated as good a deal as I feel that I can, and then opened the option of any suitable car in stock, or readily available at other dealers, including very low mileage demonstrators. A little bit of flexibility in colour has always opened up significant further savings and very prompt delivery. They are always keen to move on floor stock.
Sat Nav, My bad. Delivery was booked in for the 15th, no car. Ended up buying a SSV instead delivered the next day.
