I'm changing my dfi module and coil packs, but the dfi is dirty, if it safe to degrease it or will this affect the plug and ballast resistors? Cheers

get some electronic contact cleaner (be careful and follow the instructions/warnings on the can), once clean smear some vaseline in there to keep water/moisture out, problem solved.

What kind of dirt is it?
Could just use a wire brush maybe?

wait are you talkng about the terminals or the entire thing? if terminals some contact cleaner, if the entire module the degreaser is fine, just make sure it's 110% dry and no moisture trapped in between the coil packs and it before using it.
