    lol

    from redbook for mine:

    National average price - private sale* $2,300 - $4,400

so $2,200 is nothing special. but considering what you get for that money, i reckon that's a lot of car for $2,200.

All up my calais cost $5200 Including 2 years of rego and insurance and got it ready for rego for $2800 and I sold it for $3500. Had it for a little over 2.5 years.

That car had a pretty good life. Bought as a written of vehicle for $1100 had the front end fixed up. then resprayed when I lost my license. Then again before I sold it to fix up the spots my dad ****ed. The only mods I did to it where stereo and a sports exhuast so thats probably why I didn't lose much money on it.

    I paid $2800 for my VP. 3.8l, 5 spd man, 190k km.

Only thing i've had to replace is the clutch (wore out) and the p/s high pressure hose (sprayed p/s oil all over my headers. LOTs of white smoke).

I'm happy with mine. Paid $4500 for a VN V6 S1 manual sedan. In the few years that I've had it I've needed a new fuel pump, new steering rack, new clutch and it's still not all fixed up yet. That said it could be worse...

My neighbour picked up a VN V6 S2 manual sedan, lowered, sports pipes and 17" rims for $7500 (only two years ago)!!! As if that wasn't bad enough, it's got a massive crack in the chasis that had been bogged for the RWC, and at some point it had been in a flood because when he got the sound system redone, they lifted the carpet and found dried mud throughout the car. He wasn't happy.

I bought my VP Berlina for $10,000 9 years ago. It had 60,000ks on it when i got it and now has 170,000ks. Its still going as good as the day i got it so i'm happy with it.

I was only 18 when i got it, so it seemed like a lot of money at the time but it was well worth it.

like it how everyone says nothing has gone wrong with their car except:
    -gives a list.

anyway i wouldn't call mine a bargin but paid 1300 no rego ended up about 2500 after respray and taking over pits odo says 120,000(old one stoped at 320,000 was stoped wheni got it) but its a manual :D(these are apparently rare but now i got mine there everywhere!). and nothing has gone wrong with it except......

    Pajero LWB Wagon, Power/economy what's that ???
$600 for Series 1 VN (Lexcen) auto on gas since new. $15.00 for an oil cap and brake booster hose and grommet.
New cat leads and plugs only and a few minor problems which cleared themselves up. Travelled 30000ks since I had it.
Currently driving an 84 Corona wagon (wife is using the VN) that cost me $7.00. Put a complete computer system together from $7.00 in parts from the local tip recyclingand swapped it for the wagon. Auto, A/C, lic and running perfectly. Have a buyer at $700 taking it off my hands next week.

$400 bucks for the car, spent $38 dollars on rocker cover gaskets and apart from the ongoing saga with the wiper washer everything else is fine and dandy (oh, another $14 dollars to fix some minor rust under windscreen seal as well, no more leaks if it rains heavily now!!)

    Me thinks bargain...

    VP Calais Manual
Bought my VP Calais for $3000. 197km, Simmons wheels, reasonable condition. I had to replace the inlet manifold ($700 inc labour) and then had it converted to manual ($1,700) but now she is ready to go. Put on Lukey exhaust and CAI last w/e and gunna put the K&N on this week, followed by some lowering all round.

Seeing as i could prob. sell the wheels for $1400 and the car for $5000 (how many VP Calais manuals are out there?) i think its a decent deal. I wish i'd known about the **** involved with manual conversion, but hey, i love my car now :D
