Diff Axle Lenghts for the VL

I need to know the diff axles lenghts for the short vl axle ,I just popped my short one out because of too much slop ,I think its out of something else such as a vk because it seem a fraction too long causing me a lot of dramas any Ideas?

is it 28 spline axle. if it is it wouldnt be out of a vk as theyre borgwarners only had 25's i'm 99% sure

how much is a fraction? if its a vl turbo/v8 only two axles it could be was is either that or a vn one but from what ive read vn's are like 20mm longer.
If its only a fraction longer like a couple of mm you may get away with grinding it down some

20mm longer sounds about how much it is too long it , whats happening the axel is is bottoming out in the center before the bearing is fully seated in the housing so there is a heap of movement
