well the vs seems to have a really irertating noise coming from the rear it sounds the same as a wheel bearing (constant hi pitch squeal) so i was thinking axle bearings but when you touch the brakes it disapears.... 2 weeks ago i changed all the pads and check over everything on the cars brakes and all seem fine, for the past 3 years the diff has had bad backlash but we couldnt really care as it was a daily would backlash cause a bearing to go premature?
normally when a wheel bearing is on the way out, it will more sound like a whomp, whomp whomp.. it will appear louder when turning one way and should almost disappear when turning the other way is she live axel or irs?
yer it wasnt as noticable a few weeks back, more so a on off on off every second now its more quicker so almost sounds like its constant today perants went out and did a few hundred ks on a highway and its alot more noticable now live axle
May need to take it out to get the diff checked,i had a very similar problem with my car, turned out bearings in the diff shat themselves, but this is in an IRS so it may the same problem it may not, sounds like it though
well the car has done just over 400,000km now diff oil has only every been changed if they change it in the holden warrenty, we have never changed it since we have owned the car from 70,00ish ks suppose i should check if it has any oil in there lol
