if u got a v6 i would go 3.9, with my stardard diff i was lucky to drop a patch on the spot, when i put my 3.9s and a spool i could light them up anywhere, and your car launches off the line. If petrol isnt an issue and u dont mind reving at 3.5g at 100ks i reccomend u go with 3.9s

also, are brand new gears worth the extra money over a 2nd hand set, or a recoed 2nd hand set? what are they $300-$500 second hand?

So where can i get me a set of 3.46 diff gears? i wouldnt even know where to look. (ebay has none in that size)so where else?

it is a case of "best of luck" trying to find a good set of 3.46's.... expect to buy new,

Try searching on ebay, i did & found a few 3.46 diffs. Or go to Holden transmission/gearbox specialists, they should be able to help u out.
I ended up buying andymans 3.08 diff. Havent installed yet

3.9's have got me interested, have you done any long distance trips with them? If so, how was your fuel usage?

Yes i bump this
