Last did I had shimmed ended up costing around $1000 but that was live axle. You may find the tech will want to machine and shim, plus bearings and won't do shim alone.

hey man yeah wel i’ve got no whining or noises so it’s not bearings so there shouldn’t be a reason to replace them it’s just the shims .. have you had this done ? how much does it cost

Longest KMs on one I've owned was 20k. Never hung donuts in it not a fan of them.

Singled twice due to lack of torque , third gear entry in a V6 ute before the blower was on it in the dry. Scandoed in fine but ran out of power on the exit.

I can't turn one wheel by hand without absolutely struggling with one on the floor. But I do shim them to the point they skip in car parks the first thousand KMs.

If paying to change the ring and pinion I wouldn't bother for less then 3.7's.

I usually sell whole lsds with 3.46 for $250 if you pick one up keeps your car running and then only need to count the turns in and out on the side carrier bearings to reset mesh after tightening the LSD.

These lsds don't have shims. The solid ones have location shims but it's a cone type LSD.

I use M14 washers myself. You machine or grind the cone down the same off the small face . Stack it behind the cone so it doesn't bottom out and sits where it did.

But because the seats tapered you'll be putting a thicker section of cone into it and the grip will intensify.

Thanks mate how much did i cost you roughly , also it works mint on the spot always spins duels and no whines but when it comes to a tip it just dies in the ass so i do gather it’s the shims

Regardless of whether you need bearings or not the issue will be finding someone willing to pull the centre, repair the LSD and not replace them while he is at it. At least this is what I found. If you need a price best to speak to your diff tech as prices will vary depending on how far they insist on taking it.
