G,day all im geting a set of rockers from yt to complete my system on the old ecotec and it got me wondering today if when they have been installed will it give a different exhuast note over the stock setup? i mean these rockers are similar to putting in a new cam or something so it should alter the sound of the car wouldnt it? anyone who has the rockers installed have you noticed a difference? i know its trivial but i was curious
it might deepen / ' lengthen ' the note but i think there would only be a small difference, i wouldnt know though, to be honest.
Yes it will change the note, if you have extractors with a 2 1/2" system it will be more noticeable than just a system alone. As Patrio7 said it will be slightly deeper and a bit more "lumpy".
it should, let us no if it does. porting and polishing heads made a significant not difference on my old motor.
thanks for the replys:thumbsup: the lifters wont be going in for about another month yet (waiting for tax return & rego next month ect) but i will post up if it makes a difference or not at the same time i will be looking @ getting a chip and putting in the 2 & 1/2 system to finish it all off and a maybe in the future a bigger tb but yeah as for the note of the exhuast it was just a thoughti had
hey did the porting/polishing the headsa make a big difference performance econonmy wise? and was it exspensive to do on the v6?
soz for stealing your thread, economy - yer depends how you drive lol, if driving sensible it did. was about 400 for the port polish an shave, then the head gasket kit (head gaskets rocker gaskets exhuats etc) forgot how much, an a fair bit of time. but was worth it
no worries lol &thanks for the reply:thumbsup: so did it make a good noticeable difference performance wise? so far all i have on my car is a set of pacemakers and cai with k&n panel filter. i was looking @ fitting the YT rockers ,2&1/2inch & getting a chip! theres plenty more i could do at a later date but i will probably leave it at that
