I searched but couldnt find much, is it just my car or is the digital speedo slightly slower than the needle. At 60kph on the needle the digital speedo flashes between 58-59kph.
I know that speedos arent 100% accurate to true speed but shouldnt the two displays of speed be the same?

most new cars are allowed 10% give or take
so if you set the cruise control to 60 both should read very close
but to be honest my mates reads right on a 100 on both in cruise control on highway

My digital speedo is about 2KPH out compared to the dial.

ok im not alone lol, shouldnt they be the same?
It sucks, if u use the digital one, u think hmmm im going slow im gonna piss ppl off behind me, if u use the needle u think hmmm im speeding the camera is gonna get me.... is it due to low air pressure or tyre wear or something. I would like to use the digital speedo but i dont cos its not the same as the analogue one.

sorry just ranting cos it annoys me.

I drove an SV6 (2010) for around one week and I also noticed that the two speedos were out. Digital speedo was reading 80km while the needle showed 82/83km.

Try throwing a spanner into the works and get a portable GPS unit to tell you your speed! All three would be different then!

did a litlle prodding and prying to my mates brain:axe:
and it seems the gauges (dial and electronic)
both run off sensors coming from the ecm....
like i sadi if you have cruise give that a go and see if it holds speed accurately on both

:blah blah:
the gaugews are run off the transmission speed sensor he thinks.....
he also mentioned that they will read eratticly if the tyre sizes have been changed and the computers havent been reprogrammed to suit the tyre size??????
apart from that both the gauges are accurate to within 10% which is australian
standard for new cars so 10% OR LESS so it will read less rerther than more as i understand it by a few km/hr

hope this helps...
