digital speedo read out

yeh my vy came with it (ex-cop car) apparently its a feature that holden have to unlock and was only unlocked for the cops from factory, but as far as i know holden can unlock it for you if you ask them nicely

 

oh tru, i might get mine done, how much they charge ??

also dont u loose the speed thingo, that makes that noise once u hit a certain speed eg 100hm/h ??

 

before you turn the key on, hole mode and set on the buttons next to the steereing wheel, then turn on the key.It should take you into the diagonsitcs mode

 

It was only standard on the VY series 2

 

Yeah, ive done that before though the numbers are small compared to the ones you can get unlocked, also mines a S1, so not sure if thats why, though yeah does anyone know, how much it cost or whats its actually called, so if i go into holden i sort of know what im talking about lol ?? (name of program to be unlocked etc)

 

its called tech2 and the holden dealer wanted 60bucks for it done.

what else does the tech 2 unlock, and is the digital speedo bigger than the one from the vy s2

hmm holden quoted me 55 bux .. i liek the idea of an electric speedo

 

u don't loose your ova speed as far as i know, mine still has it, i never use it though, mines a srz1 vy (december 02 build date)
see what they quote you and if its higher than $40 or $50 ask politely if they'll do it for a slab,(what are the chances of doing it for a slab....) then just buy a slab of vb or what ever the ussual cheap beer in ur state everyone drinks is, only cost you about $30 then and they"ll be happy

 

To start with I missed it a bit, but you soon get used to it not being there.

 

They did mine for nothing. Rightfully so as it took them all of 10 seconds.

Take it to where you get it serviced that way you can argue the fact that you're sending it there to get serviced so don't try and rip cash from you for such a small thing that costs them literally nothing.

If no luck go down the road to the next service centre.
