the photoshop is his car, look back on page 2. the foglight surrounds are there, just no lights inside it.

i have the same theory, the less borderline or flat out illegal mods on the car, the less attention it should draw. when i get my tint redone, itll be darkest legal, tail lights are a factory smoke, not black, no off coloured globes, and apart from the front splitter, the car is a legal height

its that or go balls out and run the gauntlet, like i used to

Yeah i noticed the surrounds were there, just that they had no lights, i imagine it wouldn't cost much to fit the lights especially if you knew what you were doing. I meant in the image that's shopped is that how the wheels will look in the guards? I only wonder because i chose 19'' wheels thinking they were pretty big but even after lowering i still have a bit of gap in the arch, and think that 20's might have filled it out rather now i have to look into lowering it further to get it flush.

Either way at least the car is something different so i'll be keen to see how it turns out.

Well doing wheels in photoshop is quite hard getting the right size of 18's
Im gonna do another shop of the headlight I'm thinking of cutting them but only having high beams covered in blue...

Ther isn't going to be any gap in the wheel arches it's goin to be sitting on its ass with coilovers..

Fog lights for the states is around 250 I'll be getting them in a few months

that blue is kinda growing on me... still reckon the really light tint of black wouldve looked better, and would match the fog light inserts.

i think everyone is getting up in arms because its different. I'm sure within a few months the local p plater vs commy drivers will copy the idea and itll make its way onto the forums and everyone will start doing it.

Coming onto a commodore forum with a jap car and well, these are the kinda responses youd expect to see i guess.

As long as your happy with it, who cares?

i remember when everyone said how sh1t black wheels look on cars when the craze first slowly started coming out, now, every tom, dick & harry have black wheels on their car.

On the topic of wheels, i reckon those work emotions look awesome on this.. please get them ^.^

yeh i wasnt expecting much from a commy forum, but ive been on here for years and dont see myself leaving (who knows i may get back into it one day :p)

the wheels are here! well not in my hands but are currently being held in sydney, japan stuffed up on my order, well they forgot to include my extended wheel lugs with them and they wont send the wheels untill the order is complete which is fair enough

im in no rush to be honest still need to get tyres/coilovers to fit them

as for tyres im leaning towards a 215/40, wheels are 18x9

Mad stretch on the tyres? I think this'll be a nice JDM spec car once it's finished. Good work buddy for doing something different.

How is it different if it's something every one else in the JDM crowd does? Your car though OP do it for you not for any one else.

Totally, Because half the people that have commented on this own commodores...

You went from a car that anyone can appreciate the time/effort/thought that went into it to build it, To the idea of a boy racer.

You can't post up what is considered as poor taste & have other people drool over it. You've slapped it with stickers & tinted vinyl & hella horns for looks behind the grill like all the other cool kids.

****, A meat flush couple year older WRX would've been more appealing.

    Cheers
    Mat

Dafuq....why did the wheels go to NZ first?.....unless they were originally made in NZ, which is even more obscure.

Interested to see how its all going to look when done. JDM is not one of my favorite things.
