Hey all... Well I'm wanting to sort of go on a bit of a road trip in the next month or so... Just want to sort of drive an not stop til I can't drive no more lol.... Wheres somewhere interesting worth going.... I've never really been out of vic only when i was younger used to go see my grandparents up in qld.. but yeah.... Sort of want to see this country finally. Anywhere I can drive... Within reason ha ha Cheap accommodation.... An not too harsh a community to a loud holden. Cheers MaT
Byron bay stay in the Arts factory in the camping ground. Stay for a couple months and you will never be the same again, you'll turn into me but one advice, stay away from the girls from the mountains with the cookies. But yeah I've been to quite alot of places and nothing will make you grow as a person like that place will
You heard the man, you'll turn into greenfoam! Don't do it! I'll only talk from experience here, but there's a few things you HAVE to do: 1) Drive the road between Armidale and Grafton (Turn left at Hernani). It's the most satisfying stretch of road I've driven around that area. The sound of the rainforest, the camber on the road, the light through the trees - it's worth it. If you're going to drive to QLD, take that road. 2) Outback QLD. All I can say, is that there is SO much to be seen. Tropics up north, and the red centre to the west. It's the most diverse state in the country. Take your time. See it all. From Broadbeach to Cairns, it's a must-see. 3) Stop for coffee in Dubbo. Then you can tell everybody, first hand, why not to. 4) Adelaide. Don't go there. You'll get defected. 5) Go to Perth, and take a tour of The Pinnacles, in the Nambung National Park. It's beautiful, trust me. While you're out there, drive to Hyden and see Wave Rock. They're just little bits and pieces, but there's a whole experience to be had out there Just don't blow it all on petrol
I've done a bit of driving around Oz. I'd recommend heading anywhere from North to West. The other directions are ok but you get wet pretty quickly. The north and south coasts of NSW are very nice. Sydney is the only bad part of it although the harbour rocks. Reaper
my father did this a couple years back, bought a caravan and set off around australia, covered 60,000KM and he thought it was great
dont go to queensland, boring...and the people are slow. If all you want to drive, go to Central Australia, great having a beer with the aboriginals at many of the stops, perfect sunset and sunrises and camping, well take your tent and a sleeping bag.
Honestly thought about sleeping in the new rig with the sunroof partially open haha So far thinking Heading over west from me.. So dropping by heywood, portland raceway an watch some 1/8 drags, S.A, see how close to W.A I get.... Considering the new Boat is on gas currently with a GasResearch system I'll try it out, an wat better way to do it than fill an 80litre tank of petrol & 60litre tank of gas an just drive!!! And repeat... AN possibly repeat a few more times lol Honestly want to try to get to Fremantle, WA... about 3800km with stops & just checking stuff out on the way... Worked it out... And.... I'm saying return trip possibly close to 8000km.... FunTimes!!! Be good though, I'd do it over a month... Possibly November... Cheers MaT
Are you taking the VN? Cos if so, I guess we will see you in about a week after you leave Nah, good luck with it man. My work mates friends did it, they found that their only problem was they smoked too much weed and got sick of each other after a month.
Don't come to Port Pirie SA coz if ur out on a Friday night you'll surely get a defect....our local PD hands quiet a few out But if ya do wanna risk it....come by the 24hr servo on a Friday or Saturday night....I'll be there!
If ya come up to qld hozy then maybe i can show you how to sort out your VT light switch upgrade while your here mate
I'll be in the new boat... You'll all see pics of the new boat 2morrow about lunchtime!!!!!!!! Keep an eye out hehe
I always wanted to go to the Kimberlies, but i dunno if thats really a suitable location for a road trip... more a camper van trip.
If you come this way, head to Esperance, BEAUTIFUL town. Then Perth, will be nice and hot in November. We do heaps of road trips, in WA. Last lot we did 800kms in one day, stopping here and there (Lancelin, Cervantes, Wave Rock etc etc). I have been here 7 years, Craig's been here all his life, there is SO much to see.
What parts of Vic have you seen?? Sounds like you have a good trip plan to WA, but theirs also heaps of spots in vic aswell. I love filling the car up, and just going for an adventure..... High country Vic is just unbelievable up around Buchan/Dargo area. Just pack a swag, some foods and beers and a GPS is handy.... I just go up their, and adventure down different tracks till I find someone good to camp, never stayed in the same spot twice, its so beautiful and no one else around, just you and your mates.Just dont head up in fire season or you may not return haha. Also Tarrabulga/Tarra valley (near Yarram) is a must see, especially in summer.
just don't share joints or anything, a guy i know did and got meningitis/meningococcal (i forget which) and he was ok, but it ****ed with all his hormones and he grew bitch tits like bob from fight club (maybe like b's or c's) he lived with a mate and used to come out of the shower/bathroom with a towel round his chest like a chick.
hozy time to go tourist hunting if you carnt pick up in bundy, glady, mackay, airlie beach and cains you are doing something seriously wrong. you could even stop in glady for a cash boost they carnt get enuff workers here the continue on senic rute up north.
Hahaha. I used to live and work in Cobar which is 3hrs west of Dubbo. That whole part of the state is the dumps. I would travel up through the centre, and then come down on the east coast.
