DIY: Respray

okay, i've finished spraying my car purple .. i'll post up the pics when i can find a camera..

this job was completed for $390 AND i used a more expensive sort of clearcoat. was well worth the exra $$$

How long would you wait until you drive the car/cut and polish/wax it?

snotty - nope .. because i varied the application of paint ..

as for time before driving ... without baking it in an oven, id say best to leave it overnight and do it next day

if you have access to an oven, you can do it straight away.:thumbsup:

why am i spraying a black coat again? dont you normally apply it over primer as a guide coat for rubbing back repairs and spotting dents? ive read up on a lot of painting but im trying to figure out if you colour sand the colour coat with 2000 grit before clear coating to remove orange peel or if you apply the clear then rub back with 2000 grit?
im ace with a spray can and have used a cheapo gun on my old dash(dont ask) so im pretty confident with controlling a gun, plus i have the old vn panel to practise on so should be all good i just wasnt sure about tinting and hardners and thinners and ****

im doing the lot in panorama(azure) silver again with extra metal flake so its not a cheap paint to waste!
