Just be careful with spraying the Plastic garnish

As SOMETIMES a plastic will dry a different colour.

Otherwise cant wait to see the final result

Cheers mate well im not the one painting it so if he stuffs it up he will redo it for me just like he said if the paint is more than he expects he will wear the cost :)

I cant wait haha its looking so **** at the moment.

Glue still stuck in parts from the trolley strips ( wont come off even with heat gun otherwise pulls paint off) dint from kangaroo, scratches all over, rust on the boot from spoiler holes... cant wait for a months time when its all done, brand new paint, no scratches, no dints... will be so upsetting getting the first scratch etc :/

if the jobs done right its not as simple as that, well at least mine wasnt. uve gotta get the reverse lights filled and bogged up around the edges, otherwise u'll still see the outlines of them after (i see this a fair bit on some). The word holden in it, i had 2 get shaved a bit 1st and around the outer edges where the garnish is plastic welded 2gether u can see slight indentations from these so if u do this 1st u wont see these after u paint it either. but yeah the end result and the more flowing curves around the plate matches the car so much better :)

i didnt have an issue with colour not matching either.

hmm so i have to get the reverse lights bogged up first.. with liek a body filler im assuming?? and then when you say shaved on the holden do you mean like grinded back then filled over or?? ( sorry im a tad confused and haven't had anything to do with body work haha )

would i be better to get a vx garnish??

If you take to your existing grills with paint stripper, you'll be left with chrome ones. Just a tip.

Dman you try it first then i will ;)

im all up for saving $

if thats the case with the boot i think just purchasing a VX garnish from a wreckers for like $50 would be cheaper
I mean he has to rub back the existing paint anyway so no matter what colour the boot is it doesnt matter.

yeah some body filler 2 fill the gaps and lines. wen i say shave u pretty much.... well shave it haha its like sanding the top layers down so they r at the same level height that the word holden is down 2. u can generally see the indentation from these on certain angles wen u look across the garnish 2 see if u have this problem.

not if u want it 2 look any good haha :p but this is my opinion man the VX ganish is the easy way out but there r a number of reasons y i dislike them. u wont b spending any extra money doing ur own VT garnish than u would if u need 2 purchase a VX 1 and get it painted 2 suit.

Nah, being serious man. They're all plastic. The paint stripper doesn't affect the chrome. I did mine no probs.
