Do i need a new key if ichange the ecu?

Im gettin a new L67 ECU and i want to know if itll work with my original ignition key or is the immobolizer in the body control module?

You will need to get the new ecu linked to the bcm ir else it will fail the theft deterrent module talk. Key links to the BCM and the BCM links to the ECU

If you're talking about your VR and it's a VS ECU, then no. You only need new keys with a BCM swap. The BCU ECU linking thing only came in with VT+.

Its a vr with a vt ecu (im using a vt l67) So i will need a new key then? Or is there a way around it?

vr bcm wont talk to vs or vt ecu will need security removed from the memcal for it to run

Sweet that was something i never thought about with the other ecu. do you have any programmes for removing the security? because i can still use the orld vr bcm otherwise i can still look around

Could you do that and Ill just use the origianal BCM for the immoboliser. Would you need the ECU to do it or would i need to buy a memcal off you?

you wont have an emobilizer any more it will work central locking but car will start without keyhead

The immobolizer isn too importanat but how do i delete the security part of the ecu?
