Do I Need A Tune?

Hi

I am having my gearbox rebuilt and strengthened in my vs v8 I am also having my Diff rebuilt and 3.7:1 gears installed I was then talking to a tuner about after my motor is finished getting it tuned which is another 6-7 months away. he is now telling me that I will have to have it tuned straight after the gearbox and diff are done aswell can anyone confirm this? I know my speedo will be out from the diff gears so I have purchased the speedo corrector kit from jaycar to fix this but this is the first I have heard anything about a tune.

ok yes I am calling an automatic transmission a gearbox. So are you saying the car will need a tune after having the automatic gearbox rebuilt?

unless your having slip or shifting issues or you want it to shift quicker then no.
