I have an electric aerial from a VQ and Calais. The calais has this black relay? on it - the VQ dose not. Do I need one? What does it do? I want to fit the VQ to my car as the Calais one just goes down all the time.
    Any help would be cool.

Does the calais one go down all the time when plugged in to your car? As it could be module related..

I may be wrong, but the Calais one may also be aftermarket, would explain why it just goes down all the time as aftermarket ones do.

I have tried 2 modules and the calais aerial still went down. I was thinking I may be able to bypass the relay some how. I'm hoping the VQ aerial will fit in and work.

just for heads up guy's! I had a prob with the earial going up and down on it's own for no reason at all?

what it turned out to be was because i had the remote wire from the stereo going to a 1000 watt amp and 12 inch sub!

what had happened was the earth had become disconected from the amp which was causing the aerial to do some weird ****!

Re-connected the earth and everything went back to normal!

Just thought i would let you's know that in case ya have the same prob!

    CHEERS!

The more I look at it mate, the more I think the calais aerial is an aftermarket one. The VQ one should fit perfect.

Can only hope it does. I'll try the VQ one over the weekend.
