Other advice is not let wife/GF try to do parallel park.

My partner is the best parker ever. She can throw a car into a parking space in half the time I can and be 25-50mm out from the kerb without touching. I tend to end up 150mm+ because I'm worried I'll hit the kerb.

Love the 'period' tyres. I remember them from when Dad had them on his new 1954 Zephyr.
They were the cat's pyjamas back in the …... ahh, a long time ago in a country town far, far away.
If you put them on a current car, you could invent any sort of BS story about wifi reception, radar detectors, tyre temperature warning, ortonnymuss lane keeping ….

dude you read my mind, i am sure you can make up a story and someone is bound to believe it specially the kiddies, you could tell them it squashes the ants and see how they react or something. pretty old school.
