Camira's an Australian nameplate.
The idea of keeping a German name worked when Kommodore became Commodore. Senator? Nup, HSV grabbed that one. Adam? Err, no. Diplomat? Sort of name Toyota would use so that's out. The company mulled over the name for the ZB before deciding on Commodore. Clearly, the Insignia name hadn't worked out here for some reason, so it would have been pointless reviving that one. Krautwagen had already been used. Von Ryan's Express ended badly for the Germans, so that was out too.
I guess Commodore was all they were left with.
