Best advice for anything in life. Be as self-sufficient as you bloody well can.
Yeah unfortunately my local Holden dealer is useless, I’ve had so many issues with them regarding both Holdens & their staff are rude as ****, I’ve now just found a local mechanic with a good name & he’s either fixing the issues on the same day or a day or two a part, also need to learn to do a few things myself.

vt s2 wagon
I bought a 2yo Liberty RS which was still in warranty
Bit off topic but you wouldn't happen to have any old pics of the rs?

I love these cars, had 4 of them over the years and still have an rs wagon I'm modding/tidying up (project that never ends)

No sorry I've not been much of a photo-taker.

I did salvage a few photos from a column I wrote for a year about 25-odd years ago, but they're kinda sad photos ... I'd bought it before the WRX enthusiasm lead to people noticing what a Liberty RS was, so initially it was safe to park at the station, but eventually some thieves did steal it and literally used it as a getaway-car for a bank robbery in (and in Bankstown - which is amusing for both naming & resident-stereotyping reasons).

I got a 'phone call probably 6 months after it happened (total write-off), the pimply-faced teenage pizza-delivery boy from The Simpsons was calling me from Melbourne where he'd bought the wreck from an auction & was getting it repaired using a side-cut from Japan.
"Was it a reliable car, did it have any problems?"
Erm ... you mean apart from it having been driving at speed into stuff 'til oil & coolant came out by itself, and then drifted into something so the entire frame was bent?

^ And to go back on topic ... THAT is what a previously-pristine VF looks like when you pick it up from the dealer after a service!
