Does my ve have a race chip?

Hey. I've recently purchased a 2008 ve omega ute. It has an exhaust system and will beat a stock ve with ease. The person I purchased the car off knew nothing about cars everything was serviced by Holden ect. He brought it off someone else about 3 yrs ago. Who knew Alot about cars and had done it up nicely. What I would like to know is what is a definite way of telling if my ute is running a race chip and if so what kind. If it was not running one I will be putting one in.

Also any ideas on performance mods. (P plater friendly.)

Sounds like it was an ex cop vehicle and has the cop tune.

I can absolutely tell you that there is no "chip".
The engine and cars functions are controlled with an ECU and BCM. It would be doubtful the cost of reprogramming the ECU would be worthwhile on a V6.

Best settle down on the accelerator and focus on developing better driving skills and road awareness.

I know the owner it was not an ex cop car. I just wanna know if the previous owner has put a race chip in. If he hasn't I would like to put one in.
