[VIC] DOING an Alloytec engine conversion!?

So the story goes like this. My ex-housemate smashed up his VZ commodore just before moving out. After having it sit on my lawn unmovable for the next 2 months I decided that in an effort to do something with it and make an attempt to emancipate my ex-housemate from my life completely, I bought the wreck off him to strip it down, part it out, and maybe turn over some cash.

As of today the car is virtually completely stripped, and the shell almost ready to be taken away.

So before I go and "attempt" to sell anything (and I say "attempt" because there doesn't exactly seem to be much demand for VZ alloytec engines with auto trans' in them), I was thinking of maybe putting it into another car. possibly my Nissan Patrol, or maybe get a VH/VK to put it in.

NOW, I have searched all over this website looking for useful information on the subject, and all I seem to find is a bunch of negative nelly's putting in their 2 cents about how its a waste of money, and an Ecotec is the way to go, and blah blah blah wah wah wah. Sounds like everyone is just a bloody pussy when it comes to trying something different if it seems just a tad bit too hard... (which would explain why there are so many commodores on the road that all look and sound the same? an aftermarket parts paradise...)

So what I want to know is, seen as I have every single part off the VZ, is it actually that hard to put it into something else? As far as I can tell, all I need to do is modify some electronics to suit? Can I replace the BCM/PCM with an aftermarket unit to make the whole process a lot simpler?

If you have some useful information I would really love to hear your input on the matter, but if your just going to sook and whinge then go have your rant on someone else's post, please.
