Doing some paint work got a few things to fix

Roof got keyed about two inches long back to bare metal.

Drivers door backed into by some random twat left a nice scuff and a dint.

Back bumber bottomed out on the side onto a rocka t my Girlfriends house, took a nice chunk out, ill probably need bog or fibre glass there :p

Front bumber.... I left the jack out in the shed and didnt see it.... scuffed the crud out of it.

Paint code F118 Rubens Red Mettalic with pearl.

Ive touched things up so they look neat but its damn obvious that ive touched it up, that being because pearl doesn't really touch up well and clear is almost impossible to match in.

Ive done a search through the forums and ive found some good info.

What I really want now is some more advice, im paying someone to respray the roof and maybe the front bumber and that door, I want to do the prep for them to save a bit of cash.

I was thinking Sand back with 600 grit and use K&H wax and grease remover before and after this, then use it again literally moments before the painting begins, would this suffice or should I use a more course sand paper does the clear have to come off?

You have to remove all the clear on the areas that need respraying. Doing most of the prep work yourself will save some $$$ but the painter will do a bit of sanding anyway to make sure it is right. Use 180 first to get rid of the clear, then 400 to smooth out the scratches. No need to use any wax and grease remover as the painter will tack rag it before painting.

Clear is good, until you have to respray, then it's bad.
