Hey, The standard exec door pods have the plastic bars as their speaker grill which i think looks fairly average. I just wanted to know how the speaker grills actually are attached? Do they just push on over the top of the plastic grills, then you bend the tabs at the back to hold it in place? And can the grills be purchased anywhere as an aftermarket product, or can u only use the ones off actual cars , eg calais, statys etc.? Cheers
yeah they sure do, just push the grille tabs thru the slots and bend them back. not sure if there are any aftermarket ones, but my VS exec came factory with them
Yeah the calais ones just cover the plastic bars. I found this out when I picked up a set of S2 Calais Door Trims for my Exec and noticed I can use my original door pods with the Calais covers. The standard blue interior on a Exec looks better than a Calais though so I backflipped on the conversion and I might use just the covers. I picked up a set of calais carpeted kick panels from a grey interior, ripped the carpet off them and reglued them to the blue ones. The pieces the carpet glue onto are exactly the same.
