I'm quite sure that the sound engineers and designers at Holden would have put a fair amount of time into getting the sound system that way for a reason. Considering it's their job and profession, and the dollars that would have been dropped into the sound system development, it shouldn't be written off flippantly.
It was by the accountants!

Seriously, cost. The only reason. Otherwise we'd have 9-speaker Klipsch or Focal or MB-Quart or Polk setups with a sub by someone else (because nobody who does the best subs does the best speakers & vice-versa).

I understand that. I’m saying not many realise the headunit is designed to run 2ohm speakers. It’s been the way since 2006. They did for over 10 years so must be a solid money reason in one form or another.

Running 4ohm speakers off a 2ohm headunit might not deliver the expected results.

The Calais V and SSv Redline do have a Bose amp the same as what the Caprice V did in the WM and WN era. I thought the speakers in the A pillar had 4 Ohm on them

My Calais V has 2 ohm speakers.
The factory amp runs my subs in the back. (Not sure of ohms but fairly sure they are 4ohms)

Front center is 4ohms.

Try this mode it costs nothing.

Unplug the center dash (3.35ohm) speaker and woo just like the VE made a huge difference .
The Hands free telephone works through the front door speakers.

Having left and right channels "stereo" - it's not a home theatre.
Very Very Easy to do.
Taking the center dash speaker cover off a VF
Use your fingers at the window side apply upward pressure on the outer side as you work your way back towards the front of the grill. It will pop out.
Remove the center dash speaker wire plug
There is a half-moon shape (picture below) on the wire plug push the inner plastic peace to remove.

UTE's don't have the center speaker

Removing the centre speaker improves the sound? Or is it just placebo?

Disconnecting the center speaker makes it stereo and it's only a 5 minute job.
