what would be the easiest way to check if my door switches are faulty

VN Calais 1990 V6 3.8L
multimeter on resistance, door closed, should be as close to zero ohms as possible,
door open, should be open circuit, or some ridiculously high amount of ohms, generally anything about 500K ohms should, in theory, work

door closed should be no resistance no reading at all door open will be 0 ohms or any reading unplug the wire off the switch and put the multimeter on there where it came off and put the other lead on whichever part earths to the body most likely the screw hole
