I dont mind that. I think that is HSV specific trim
It looks more like the door pieces you removed than the ones you installed?
Although it's not always easy to see via a 'phone-camera & then a monitor ...
What does your shifter surround look like? Piano black? I'm trying to remember what ours is ... could be chrome I think (basing this off online pix more than memory).

Shifter surround is the same as the door trim inserts...

^ Terrible incorrect terminology on my part, I meant those "buttress" trim pieces that frame the entire hollow in which the shifter sits, one on either side. The finish looks the same as the ones you removed. I just checked our MY14 SSVR since it's now in the garage, they're chrome on it (although unsure it's chrome, it's not super-duper shiny, it sorta looks like it's trying to be a "gloss stainless" - a mate had a Lancia Beta, I didn't even know there was such thing as not-plastic exterior trim before that let alone polished stainless :) ).
