Anyone know how to remove the door trim strip in the that sits on the outside of the door at the base of the window? I have tried to pull on it but don't want to break it off.

Yes they have a small screw on each end that you access from the inside of the door when it's open. Then it's simply a matter of prying it upwards from one end, generally the back end of the door, not the mirror end.

Also if I recall correctly the mirror has to be removed.

Any idea what they are called? I need replacement ones and my spares are hard and damaged where the seal meets the window. Can't find any on ePrey. Not that I would buy them from ePrey unless I can find NOS at a reasonable price.

They were called "Weatherbelts" in the VL days, but seem to have morphed into Belt Mouldings. You won't find any new ones as that's why they don't last at the wreckers.

Hi Losh, I have been looking for those
also. I doubt its possible to get them.
Maybe have to glue on new felt backed rubber strips to replace the ones gone hard.

"Belt Mouldings" is the official term if you look in the Factory VS manual under Exterior Ornamentation.

So I'll give credit to where credit is due.

When I remove these from the earlier model commodores, I actually open the door and slide them from the back of the door towards the back of the car...I give them a slight lift at the back, prior to sliding them off...I have also removed the door mirror

I have seen when they have been lifted upwards to remove them, they have bent....Whether that is due to impatience or not, I can't say for sure.

So another suggestion

Finding them....They can be found, but you have to be patient to find ones in good condition.....I also understand time isn't your friend, which makes it difficult

'Door Belt Weatherstrips' is another name GMH has used in years past for basically the same part on other Holden models.
