Thought Ide share my experiance with the install I had today. I couldnt find much info on it other than "cant be done". I thought this was the case. I took this more as a challenge....and also had some spare time Here is what I found out. Honestly its not worth it. I dont believe it can be done without destroying the heater box (my method) or a major relocation of the whole heater/ventilation ststem. In the end I was not happy with how it all finnished up (just doesnt look any good), but my process was that I wouldnt cut anything they I couldnt replace without to much trouble.
Quick go to the wreckers get replacement parts and put it back to normal before a Holden enthusiast or soon to be ex friend sees your rice interior !!! Next time you get some spare time, polish the car or replace the oil or something
Yeah, Id get a new heater box and console and remove that. If you're going to do it, might as well do it right.. e.g build a custom console and relocate the **** behind it...
I think I`ll just put it back to standard, was a good exercise to under take. Learnt some stuff. Its a good headunit, just looks very out of place in the old ute. What really shits me is the heater haddent work since I had it. During the distruction I got it working - then just to put a hole in it with the screwdriver!
