I came across a post this morning that had a download link for workshop manuals for VT to VY V6 and V8, and I thought Id download it and take a look, as we all know, most of these types of downloads are illegal, but when I looked through the manual, it looks to be a legit copy made for download. The pages in the PDF have written on the top of them them that they are not to be sold, but are to be available for download free on the net. I dont think they would have all of this plastered all over the pages etc if they were illegal copies of a manual. Whoever removed this link should have looked into this more carefully before banishing it, because if it is a legit site with legit downloads, theres no reason it cant be left up for everyone to use.
I have been looking for a workshop manual for my VX for fricken ever , you are right, why the frick would the dumb ass advertise the fact they are free if it's illegal .
I have a friend who has VH to VZ complete series on PDF after acquiring them as a free download. I can tell you that they are extremely handy but the contents and navigation through the actual pages can be a major pain. It is well worth the 30-40 bucks to have the book physically in front of you if you plan to work on the one model. Nothing worse than trying to memorise crap, going out getting greasy and then having to return to the computer and scroll through hundreds of pages to find what you're looking for (if you can't be bothered printing it). I dont condone illegal downloading blah blah blah....
VT-VZ Workshop Manual was some $36 from Supercheap Auto, paid for itself in 15mins. I wish there was one for the VE though
The added benefit of having a book on your bookshelf. Rather than just glass vases filled with rocks and scented candles
You can still get some of the manuals up to VS through specialists like Bookworks but the full sets are like encyclopaedias - and priced to match. Where available, they are, by a long way, far superior to Gregory's and Haynes manuals. Any manual is better than nothing though. As far as I'm aware, genuine VT- are only available in electronic form.
