We all know there is nothing like a little war to distract the voters from a politicians shortcomings (of which we know Trump has many). It really is a classic republican trait to start a war when the polling numbers are looking bad and with a ego like Trumps I think it is really only a matter of time before the sabre rattling ends and the real shooting starts. What do you think, will we see another war on the Korean peninsula this year? I do believe that should the North fire a missile (or missiles) as they have threatened to do into the waters just off Guam than the US will launch a counter strike.
Ohh golly gosh, don't you feel proud today for been an Aussie citizen? http://www.nzherald.co.nz/world/news/article.cfm?c_id=2&objectid=11902381 Malcolm Turnbull: We'll help US if North Korea attacks Who called who? is US starting to "rally the troops" so to speak before the shooting starts proper?
The North Korean has to be stopped now, or the bastards will have to much power and will start **** with Japan not to mention take over South Korea. young Kim is a full on mental case. The USA has been giving North Korea billions of dollars for years in aid so they say, but that all gets funded into building the Korean Army.
I would respectfully think that there are a number of other options far more likely to eventuate than either "opinion" offered in the poll.
I actually agree that that fat little twerp needs to be stopped but the reality is that it has been left to long. Unfortunately if anything happens now the north will unleash on the south and with Seoul been very close to the border the potential of mass civilian casualties in the south is a very high possibility as well as any military installation in range of any of his conventional missiles. the only way to prevent mass casualties in the south would be a huge sustained assault until all the Norths forces are decimated and even the US would struggle to do that on short notice. I added another option just for you
I think the US is definitely ramping up for a fight. http://www.msn.com/en-nz/news/natio...korea-attack/ar-AApQT3G?li=BBqdk7Q&ocid=wispr
Allowing DPNK to build a nuclear arsenal after being bribed not to isnt the fault of Trump. It has been a systematic case of innaction, looking the other way and soft sanctions that have allowed them to progress to the point they are at now. Yes, indeed. Language like “We could, obviously, destroy North Korea with our arsenals”sure is inflammatory. But that was said over a year ago, by Obama. Who did little to nothing during his terms to mitigate the threat that DPNK pose in the region and dumped the problem into Trumps lap on the Democrats losing the election. New administration, new policy.
Yep. In reality an "enforced regime change" should have occurred when he took over before he had time to establish power.
I can't see the US initiating any strike action. If something does kick off, it will be started by the Imperial Leader. The result = the US raining down hell on them.
And now the Chinese join in the rhetoric.... http://www.nzherald.co.nz/world/news/article.cfm?c_id=2&objectid=11902513
I don’t think there will be any war. Our Julie will send Kim a very strongly worded email telling him what military action Australia is likely to take, and that will have him backing off very quickly. The very thought of a RAAF squadron of F111s, oops …. F35s, no, ahhhh, I mean, ummm ….. pelicans, should do it. And, we’ll stop all our foreign aid to them. Problem solved. Simples.
I do have one option. If KJU was assassinated, who would take his place as it's a family dynasty and AFAIK there is no descendant to take his place yet. Would his generals be as mad and willing to provoke the US? kJU rules by terror. With him gone, would the leadership be more rational?
Those are interesting questions. MY understanding is that it is confirmed he has a daughter and possibly a son now too but that is unconfirmed ATM. IMHO assassination just isn't realistic unless you intend to drop thousands of pounds of high order explosives where you think he might be hiding.
When you see the list of family members, generals, and political 'enemies' that that KJU has got rid of since he took over, not much chance of a take-over.
Publicity stunt, unless he intends to try and kill him with his bear hands I doubt it would be possible.
My prediction is this - it will come to a head. Nth Korea aims a rocket or two at Guam. Fires. As soon as they are airborne, the US will ascertain that they are indeed heading for Guam, and initially take out the two rockets. USA will then send 3-4 nukes to Nth Korea. Nth Korea, if not already doing so will rain artillery on Sth Korea. Then the nukes will start hitting Nth Korea. And that will be that. China and Russia will hopefully stay out if it.
That's what scares me, the US using a nuke as a first strike option. The US nukes (if used) would probably hit NK before the missiles it fired would hit Guam. Chances are, the US has subs in the area that can fire both nuclear and conventional missiles as well as missiles coming from silos on US soil. It seems that the B1-B bombers on Guam are loaded and stand ready which seems logical that they would scramble anyway in the event of a missile attack.
