Cheers for the tips folks it is an auto and has no traction control. Should it be shifted manually 123D or stalled and left in drive.

Run with it in Drive first. That's one less thing to think about. You can experiment when you've got the basics down. You can hear SFA with a helmet on anyway so you have to shift off the tacho. not something you usually do on the road.

Do I need a race helmet???

Check on Perth Motorplex site above for the specifics but drewVHSS's post is pretty right. You'll need closed shoes (runners are OK) and a long sleeve top as well. One other rookie mistake is to wear the long sleeve top but push the sleeves up. The marshalls will pick you up on that. Another one is to not have your driver's window up.

Do people make fun of u or rip the piss if u #### up not having done it before

Some might but usually they'll be people who haven't done it themselves. You are out there running and they're not. If anyone takes the piss, where's their car?
