Iv been running a VE alloytec Le0 for a week with a new timing chain kit. Put a brand new Machter aftermarket water pump in. The SERP belt tensioner would vibrate intermittently for a few secs at idle so I replaced it with a new belt n b4 I put the new belt on noticed a scraping noise when I spun the water pump pulley by hand. The pulley is contacting a water pump mount bolt and has a bit of play in the pump bearing. The pulley bolts were tight. Has anyone had a similar issue with a new aftermarket water pump. Surely it wudnt have flogged itself in a week reusing the old SERP belt and tensioner. I get the feelin the new water pump cudve caused the belt tensioner to vibrate in the first place. I cudnt hear any scraping noise from the pump pulley at idle
