My barrel is buggered, and looks like i'm going to have to drill it.
If i do drill it does this destroy the internals so I cant move them into another barrel so I can use the same key?

    ahh, ok.

so you're buying a new ignition barrel? if you drill straight into the lock, its gonna kill the internals for sure. you can buy a new surround and grind off the old one, then take the barrel in to get copied.

then again, im sure if your key is still good, they should be able to redo a barrel to suit the key without needing the old barrel.

tried moving the wheel around and turning key at same time?(probably have, but doesnt hurt to ask)

Yeah of course ive tried that, tried for about 40 mins straight and it worked once, but then I didnt know about getting the barrel so I didnt pull it out.

Then i found about how to remove the barrel but cant get the key to turn now.

Spent hours and it didnt turn, so time to drill. Can i use a small drill piece? or does it have to be fairly large?

I angle grinded the whole housing off, so no more steering lock.

I also wired up a push button start (always wanted to do that, now i had an excuse to do it)
And i made a little mount that the key can sit in so the little ring reader can read the key.

Now all you do is, put the key into the mount, flick a switch I wired up for the ACC and press the button to start the key :)

    NO ignition barrel necessary :D
