maybe he ran to get help, i dunno. we need more details

Nope he ran because he knew what he had just done. Accidents happen yes but a Monaro - in the air - he's a gonner for sure. If you are driving in a 50-60 zone you can stop easy if not embedded in the car in front of you.

He was speeding.... Dont need a "Official" report on this one people.

Sad loss for so many and I bet if he could have his time over he would save the speeding for the drag strip or open road.

how do you know?

once again, how do you know?
Yeah I have to agree, he may have ran because he was in shock. As for speeding, says who? The old bloke over the road because his car was loud or some other crap the elderly make up.

Ive seen a car get airborne and thrown upside down when a car pulled out in front of it, the car that was hit and ended upside down was doing 60...

It is a sad loss, but before judgement is passed, its best to wait for the truth. Amazing thing is, when the truth comes out if it isn't the "hoon" at fault you barely hear about it. The last media sensationalised story in where someone was killed by a hoon driver disappeared quick when it was found that the person that was killed had turned in front of a car doing 80 km.h in a 80 km/h zone...funny that.

vtech just kicked in y0?

it is sad. but really old people cause accidents by taking far too long to get through intersections, failing to indicate, and they cut people off alot because they're not allways fully aware of whats going on, id say a combination of that and a idiot driver...

The 24-year-old driver will appear in court next week on charges of dangerous driving occasioning death, dangerous driving occasioning bodily harm, and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Not only was the ******** speeding but also drinking, the accident happened just before 1pm.

The 24-year-old driver of the vehicle tried to run from the scene but was apprehended by neighbours of the injured woman.

"Police have also told us that the young driver has had a bit of a look around, seen what's happened, he's a bit shaken up and the next thing you know he bolts, he runs straight off down the road,'' Mr Taylor said.

"A few of the local residents who had come out and were watching saw this and they've chased him for about 500 metres and they've tackled him to the ground and held him until the first police car arrived.''

Neighbour Lee Van Dongen told PerthNow he heard screeching on the road and ran out of his house to see a red car racing up behind a yellow car that was trying to turn right.

"The red car went out of control and careered into the car port ," he said.

"He was going fast, bloody fast. I saw the driver of the red car get out and walk over and look at the baby and then has just legged it and ran away."

Over the years of seeing damaged cars all day every day, talking at length about accidents and how they happen with panel beaters and police. Being involved in many crashes too. If he was travelling at 50 or 60 and hits a car flies through the air and and hits a house - you need more speed that 50 or 60kph simple. They report screeching of tyres before the hit. So he get the Monaro airbourne from say 25kph. Dont thinks so.

Yes he ran from shock no doubt. Anyone would be in shock - but to run implies some level of guilt. What was he guilty from - having an accident - no, he was guilty of driving too fast of not watching the road.

I pick too fast.

read the article carefully. the neighbour said he heard screeching brakes, so he went outside, to see the car "speeding" and then hitting. now, that would mean that the guy giving the report must be able to move at the speed of light to get outside fast enough to see the accident, if the screeching occured immediately before that accident as youre implying, when he was still inside

maybe he had no phone on him and ran to get help from somewhere? or saw the lynch mob after him and ran for help?
