Britain has just announced a ban on the sale of petrol, diesel and hybrid vehicles from 2035. That will prompt other countries to so the same.
I sorta glad that I won't be around when this future gets here.

This is only 15 years away.
I hope l'm still about? Don't know why, in this fcked up world we live in? I suppose it was kind of like this for our grand fathers, great grand fathers, going from the horse & carriage to the motor vehicle? We need to adapt. Move with the times.

A lot can happen before 2035 and as we know, the Britain public is somewhat indecisive judging by the brexit yes/no/yes/no public view

In any case, banning petrol, diesel and hybrid doesn’t mean driverless cars. It just means no ICE power train... could be good old electromotive power power from 2035 ;) though we may have to fight the smart car/driverless car up sell

A couple of days ago, I got stuck behind a newish Audi at a roundabout. When the driver had a chance to go nothing happened, except for his stop lights repeatedly coming on and off. I could tell by the drivers agitated head movements, looking down then forward that he was having some sort of problem. My guess was stop/start, or park brake confusion rather than the usual stalled manual. After about 20 seconds he eventually got going and rapidly disappeared in to the distance, probably giving it a good old fashioned flogging to teach it a lesson, Basil Fawlty style.
I was amused and sympathised rather than being annoyed, as I know full well that I could not jump into a new car now, and simply drive off.

Just like my fore-fathers. I am getting tired of electronic stuff telling me to upgrade this, update that, usually with results that are not as good as the old program or phone app.
Missus just chucked her phone because it was full of down loaded crap that even the younger savvy generation could not clear. She has gone to a later model phone with minimal add-ons.

    As Paul Simon wrote……
“When I think back on all the crap I learned in high school, it's a wonder I can think at all.
And though my lack of education hasn't hurt me none, I can read the writing on the wall.”

Honestly I don't remember the exact details...I just seem to recall a death happening in the US involving a driverless car, under going testing with a person in the passengers seat.

If this is the one, it is good to know the outcome....
