VT Wagon
hi i am hoping someone here maybe able to give me a few ideas ...... i have a 97 VT wagon and just recently my car has developed a shudder or vibration from the drive train and as it only happens when changing up through the gears i am assuming it has to do with the gearbox (4 speed auto) as i take of from standing the car shudder/vibrates but smooths out as the car picks up speed but does the same as it shifts up through the gears and if i put it into drive it does it continuously so cant use drive at all? some have said it could be the bands are stretched and has also been suggested the counter balance shaft could be shot as i don't know a lot about it any help would be much appreciated.

Might be one of your coils breaking down under load and causing a misfire.
Check your plug leads too.

I'd be looking at the engine mounts and how close the sump is to the cross member.
