Thanks Stooge very cool mod
Has any seen/got a dimming plug and play harness for the DRL’s?
I have not seen one but jhp might have one.
I do remember Automotive Lighting Customs posting on Facebook to “watch this space” but that was like 6-7 months ago. I did send a Facebook message to them but never got a response
Mate your instructions worked like a charm, very clear on steps basically idiot proof.
The only thing i did notice is with the controller hooked up now the DRL’s arent as bright during the day as they used to be prob due to lower voltage out put through controller.
I never noticed that, get someone to turn the headlights on and off for you and watch the drls and just make sure they change brightness when you cycle the headlights on/off.
they should only dim while the headlights are on.
sometimes the drl controller from ebay can be faulty, I have binned a few for various faults.
Found this other thread which may help clear some legality confusions...
Does anyone have the wire/pin diagram for the plugs that are separated (one of which has the red clip that is pulled down) in the right side of the bumper? I would like to use the Gen5DIY harness and modify this rather than cutting my wires. I think that the wire locations for the 2017 Chevrolet SS are different to ours and I may have to modify their harness.
Do you have fog lights?
If you do they share the same gnd as the drl and screw with the dimmer.
The pinout is in this post i did for the evoke
No fog lights but this may be useful, thanks.
