Hey guys ive had my VT for a few months now and finally looking to do something bout the exhaust.
When i bought it it had the usual 2.5 cat back in it and was also cammed.
Its an ok sound but to be honest it is quiet droney and could be much better.
Since having it ive put a set of extractors in but it didnt have muchg affect on the sound.
Anyway`im wondering if anybody has any advise to give it a more throaty sound.
Im not sure of the muffler on it atm, is there a way to know what it is?

To get a bit more of a throaty sound try fitting a Pod Filter, all you have to do is hook up a pod filter upto your MAF with a small peice of tubing attach the Air temp Sensor to the tube and yeah.
Did this to the corolla i had it sounded really nice.

Is it a 6 or an 8? I'm assuming it's a 6, and an auto. What I would suggest is removing the front muffler completely and fitting a rear resonator if it hasn't already got one.

Yea its a 6 but manual.
If i remember correctly i think its only got one muffler right at the end :s..
Ive been reading about different muffler methods ei. reflection, absorbsion and forgot the other.
Does anyone know the different sound qualties of these and wheyther you can find out exactly what one the muffler uses?

A baffled muffler is reflection.
A straight through muffler is absorption.
The other type is an Active Noise Cancelling muffler which uses a microphone to record the exhaust noise then plays it back through a speaker. I think the Cadillac used this. Quite effective but doesn't last too long.

I suggest you fit a muffler on the front and use a hotdog on the rear. It won't eliminate the drone but it will reduce it to an acceptable level.
