Seen it on many vn's, wondering how they do it.. I had a look underneath my car saw a few bars going across.

Anybody know how to do it step by step.. Last thing i would want is the tank to slam onto the grond and rip anything with it down... :bop:

I also have a towbar, wondering if that will make it any difficult.. Can take pics if you need to see how it is under-there. :p

Exactly right. The so called "Drop Tank" you've seen is an 80ltr tank. Just fit one!

Whats with all the thread digging. Another 4 yo thread that really shoudn't have been dug up!

For the record, those cars are using the 80L tank, which has different straps, and hangs lower.
You can get a custom tank made like i am, which will look like a drop tank!

    About 80ltr fuel tanks.

I have a VN V6 Calais and it only had a standard V6 tank
in it so I purchased an 80ltr from the wreckers and fitted
    it myself.
you must drain the old tank before installing the larger one,
make you get the correct tank straps to suite it.
I fitted the tank by myself and didn't find it too difficult.
Not all Calais came out with an 80ltr tank, only came out
in the V8's and was only an option in the V6's.
My 80ltr came from a VQ Statesman, but the straps were
wrong so I had to hunt the wright ones up, all has worked
    out ok with the conversion.
It now gives me a longer country fuel range, less stops
    between fill ups, it's great.
I hope that this imformation will be of some help to you.

    Cheers.
    Bob...

I forgot to mention that I am also running a genuine
external fuel pump aswel as the internal fuel pump.
The internal fuel pump is a low pressure pump and
the external fuel pump is a high pressure pump.
Both fuel pumps came from the VQ Statesman.
I purchased the tank and fuel pumps from the
    wreckers, from the same car.

    Cheers.
    Bob...
