Hi all. just got my Clubby back from the garage, Went in to read and clear Trouble codes held within the ECU. Came back with a PO122 TPS SENDER 1 CIRCUIT LOW VOLTAGE, CLEARED NOT RETURNED. P1122 TPS INTERMITTENT LOW-VOLTAGE-CLEARED- NOT RETURNED 68 FAULT CODE (ABS) CLEARED- NOT RETURNED 64 TPS (ABS) CLEARED- NOT RETURNED Found a Snap-On DTC on the web, Doesn't cover much on VY "V8" thou. Copy and Paste. Its in PDF. http://media.wix.com/ugd/b29b3a_c36090d90edcc358ec471801875c675a.pdf
Id say they disconnected the throttle body at some point and the ABS module disable stability/traction control because of it. Did they sell you a throttle body clean?
sorry for the hijack but how do you pull the DTC on a vy? i just bought my first vy today and am curious for future refference. and before someone says search, tried that.
Is that the only way? ive come outa a VR where all you had to do is bridge the ALDL under the steering column. can i buy a cheap scantool/Usb cable and use something like tunepro rt? if so where from. thanks.
You can get them cheap, just be careful as not all scan tools do all Commodores. I got one for my VZ and it works on VZ and VE but not earlier Commos.
Yeah I drive a VS V6 auto during the week and a VZ V8 manual on weekends and there's quite a difference hahaha.
No. No throttle body clean. Just a standard extract and erase. Only had the car for 2 weeks. Now the TPS has seemed to settle down a lot, it has a more smoother idle, doesn't rev up to 3000rpm when ya start the bastard and has a bit more poke... which is nice for a change. If it shits itself again, it'll be replaced.
Happened 25-1-13 Back off accelerator, Check Engine Light appears with chime, trac control automatically switches "off", pressing t/c button in doesn't work, clutch in, revs up and holds to around 1800-2000 RPM and can feel it idling really rough. Don't think its limp mode, i just think its the TPS. To clear, well this works as a temporary fix.... Pull car over, turn off and remove key, open drivers door, close drivers door and restart vehicle. I may have to do this about 3 times till it settles down. Sometimes its instant. Happens every time i back off the accelerator, throws a light. Scan tool has been on car and TPS gave a Low Voltage.
If the ecu loses communication with the TPS, or there are any issues with TPS data, it will default to about 30% throttle. Same with accelerator position sensors. Trac control/stability is disabled as the ECU loses the ability to control throttle. I think you're on the right track thinking the TPS is the issue.
