I didn't say it would "fail". The sound from the two different sizes doesn't blend properly and ends up sounding worse than a single well set up sub. It's just basic speaker design, you don't let different size speakers play the same frequencies.

Yeah, 10's are good. I have a Creative 5.1 Surround Sound system in my room with a 10" sub for my home stereo, connects to my computer. Sounds wicked, gives really punchy bass, but really doesn't do the job at high volumes...

my Xplod 12" sub is pretty shithouse, for the fact that its not very good quality...I don't know...more bass versus quicker bass...really down to personal preference. It's like asking an Italian whether Pizza or Pasta is better...or asking an aussie whether a BBQ or a beer is better

haha well can you have a BBQ without beer?
thanks for your imput, i'm still looking, and considering boot space i will go for a single 500wrms 2ohm 12inch, unless i find some nice 10's that are better in the meantime.
