I got a quick question for anyone who knows about subs and amps.

I have just bought a VE Sv6. And i am planning to put two subs in the boot. I am going to make custon boxes to put one in each corner at the back and mount the amp/amps in the middle.

Now heres the question, should i buy 1 big two channel amp, or two smaller mono amps?

i know that i will need either a 2 channel LOC or get High Inputs on the amps.

G'day mate :)

any chance we could have some details of the subs? That way we could work something out for you. :)

Generally, one monoblock amp will be better.
* Easier to install
* Less wiring
* More than likely cheaper

But in saying that, if you want a nice symmetrical design in the boot then maybe two monoblock amps.
Whatever you do, make sure the subs you buy are suited to the amps (impedance wise).

Just buy a mono with enough power to run both subs and make sure you buy the correct models to match the amp.

Im running duel subs on a 2 channel amp
Subs are pioneer 1200 watts each 450rms
Amp is 500 watts.
Also running another amp to my 6x9's (just bragging here :D)

But if i had money to spend i would definitely buy 2 mono amps and hook up a sub to each.

well, i dont have the subs yet, so im open to ideas. all up I dont want to spend over 700.

im thinking dual 12's. I was thinking of just buying one really big Mono block and sticking it in the middle. but how do you wire two subs to it. Do i just run it in a parallel circuit?

$700 for 2 subs and a monoblock?

Depending on what subs and what amp you get will depend on how they are wired. Lets just say you get 2x 12" 4 ohm DVC subs and a 1 ohm stable monoblock. This means you join the two +s and the two -s together from sub one, do the same with sub two and run the wires from each sub to the amp. This will give you a 1 ohm load for the amp.
