Bought my pair installed for $500 from Autobarn about 6 months ago. Kids don't make a peep any more while driving. Best upgrade ever.

If you are not sure on how to install them, you'd be better off getting
them professionally installed.
That way, if anything goes wrong, you'll be covered by warranty.

I have installed headrest dvd players in a Lexus, Toyota, Mercedes and other vehicles

I haven't had a chance to do the same in a VE Commodore, but will be venturing to do the same shortly.

If the back of the seat can be removed then installation is simple. I haven't looked at my VE yet, can the rear of the seats be removed?

The difficult part of the entire install is wiring the headrests up to turn on.
Your options depending on how electrical savvy you are is wiring up to the fuse box & run off the accessories, the other and the easiest method is having them run off the cigarette lighter.

The headrests I have used allow both screens to run individually (different things on each screen) or as a slave and master (show the same on both screens).

I plan on running a media player in the glove box and controlling everything from there, showing on the headrests and also on the front screen.

Make sure that in order to comply with ADR's (Australian Design Rules) any replacement headrests are compliant. To do otherwise may result in the death of someone as headrests are considered as passive safety devices hence the need for compliance. .
