I have got a vx v6 with extractors,2 1/2 inch exhaust,ss cold air and k&n airflilter. After mods got 154hp at the wheels on the dyno.Just wandering if anyone else has some figures of what they got after mods.
hey mate, i'm pretty sure the vx puts out more than that standard http://www.redbook.com.au/vehiclesearch/Detail.asp?key=HOLD01BI
what you mean at the fly(whith no air conand no power steering at the factory). these figures sound bout right, is it an auto tho or manual. cause u stand to lose another 10 or 15 hp through just the auto box and then on top of that the auto slips, which gives you false readings compared to a manual.
I seen a article on the F.I.T. website it was aimed at the 1.9:1 high ratio roller rockers, here it is Driving onto the dyno the Ecotec pulled a healthy 136.8rwhp (102.8rwkw). This was around par, given the car was a standard VT Executive Auto, and fitted with pacemaker extractors and 2 1/2" and cat back exhaust. The air/fuel ratio was way on the lean side, around 13.5:1, and would benefit from being made richer, but we still weren't ahead with the evaluation. After spending 1½ hours on fitting the FIT 1.9:1 Rockers, it was time to put it back up on the dyno again. Immediately the dyno graph shot up way past the original graph and just kept pulling till redline and a result of 152.3rwhp (114.5rwkw) was achieved, without tuning !! That's a net gain of 16rwhp (12rwkw), with nothing else but the rockers changed!! What was even more remarkable is the increase in low down and midrange torque. These rockers added a real advantage to this engine, all over, with absolutely no loss anywhere, only gains.
Those figures are at wheels . I got 139hp at the wheels with no mods then 154hp after mods. And yes it is a auto.
so far i have got mine to 148rwkw(198rwhp), Thats with twin throttle body, VR computer conversion, high ratio rockers, MSD coils, and basic port heads. Still yet to do anything with the exhaust so hopefully once i get a set of extractors and dual 2 1/2" i might be able to crack the 200rwhp mark.
VY ute @ 322 rwhp, but a fair few mods. powerdyne supercharger @ 12 psi intercooler, pacemaker extractors, twin metal substrate cats, 3 inch mandrel exhaust, crane cam, YT 1.8:1 roller rockers, higher flowing injectors and fuel pump, LS1 MAF, rollmaster timing chain.
Ive got a vxs pack which i threw on the dyno and read 150rwhp stock standard. u must have a faulty dyno or something. However mine is a manual
Ive got a VN series to v6. i put it on the dyno because it was not running right, anyways it ended up making 180rwhp with a fowled plug.
You had a happy dyno, How the hell did your V6 VN pull out 134rwkw approx.... You got viagra in the tank or something... Starting to grow another 2 pistons??? lol Cheers MaT
    A VN V6 making 180 rwhp, mate someone is pulling your chain!!! There is no way a VN V6 would make that sort of power without some good mods, and you reckon you did it with a fowled plug! I dont thinkso!!:whistling
