Yes...was done on the same dyno...ran the new memcal then put the old one back in and ran it again. My vr has only 145000k's was 143000 when bought 2 months ago...must of been owned by an older couple, and is in pretty good condition mechanically i think. Seller is the well known Blackstar7000.
Now i have a spare memcal....i have one to send away and keep my car on the road, i guess that is a bonus! Car may feel a tiny bit faster but hard to tell cause i just got the redback exhaust fitted that very morning (man my car sounds ANGRY now...it is damn loud) so i thought a dyno will give me the answer. Oh forgot to mention the extractors i have whacked on as well (wildcat).
Bellmouth- my car does not really idle rough at all without it in place..... i am of the thinking atm that evenly flowed air intake will be better for the engine... In your opinion/experience is the bellmouth removal really worth it.... will the engine run more efficiently with it in.

Why didn`t you get it tuned on the dyno, it would have been the way to go
as its the most accurate? or didn`t you know you could get tuned in real time on a dyno?

Yes i am aware i could of got it tuned on the dyno, which is the optimun thing to do....although i didnt want to spend the $$ for it with the small amount of mods that i have done. When i can afford to get some major work done to the engine OR whack on a supercharger will definately get the car tuned on the dyno.

Dr bob tunes does tunes for the ecotec. I have got one of him in the past and was very happy with the results.

My vs wagon with just cheap headers, cat back, cai got 115kw at the rears. The main thing about the dr bob tunes he will adjust anything you wnat such as auto settings etc...

I also returned very good economy. I was getting 700km to a tank on the open road.

Is there a significant power gain to be had below 3000rpm on a *stock* (ie factory exhaust etc) ecotec? Coming from a s1 vn, the ecotec is a little slow down low...
