pulling off the pod might give you better power reading. A CAI and K&N will stop the engine pulling hot air from the engine bay, and will still allow great flow

the bonnet was up, so that wouldnt have effected it. im happy with anyway it has nearly 220,000 on it and has never been opened. its makes alot more than the stock 165fwkw

good point on the bonnet being up. but what about road driving, its going to heat up under there.
