Want to change the festoon lights in my door.. is there an easier way than taking off the door trim to get access?

The light fittings come out from the door trim. Pull gently.

If you try pulling them out of the door trim then you need to be very carful as the 10+ year old plastic covers have a tendency to come off leaving the rest of the light in the trim.

I hate the door lights, such a horrible design!

In my car they had both been broken by the previous owner I ended up buying a new pair from ebay for cheap - hope never to have to change the globes again!

Now that I remember correctly, there are two tabs, one on top and one on the bottom. I use a small screwdriver and push it down behind the tabs while pulling out.

I think the tabs are on the side, even doing it properly they still have a tendency to break when they have aged.
