Changed the oil in my car yesterday and accidentally kicked over the container with all the old oil, let's just say it made quite a mess of the concrete in the backyard, what have people used to clean up motor oil spills?

You could try kitty litter to soak up any residue if present and If the normal degreasers don't shift it white spirits is the best for removing oil.

If it is a stain then that's a different story.

My son discovered that pouring sugar soap over the stain removes it also.

    Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner..

Comes in an aerosol can.. Spray on.. Leave it sit then hose it off.. Also use it for cleaning my funnel and oil drain bucket.. Does an awesome job..

If it's soaked into the concrete, caustic degreaser is your best bet - oven cleaner, as mentioned above, is a weaker version of this and much easier to find in small amounts - otherwise you can pick up trade sizes from chemical distributors like Omikron or Autosmart

caustic soda from the supermarket cost about $4 for 500gms mix with warm (not hot) water,
get a scrubbing brush or broom, you don't need to scrub hard just enough to keep the mix moving,
once the oil is up spray it off with a hose.
