Ebay aftermarket Taillights, good or not good?

Hey everyone, I have owned my VS Ute for about a month now and was looking at changing the stock taillights for something a little more appealing to the eye. Was looking a the clear tail lights from ebay but wasn't sure if they were any good or not as I've heard of problems such as leakage when raining or washing the car as well as the colour on the bulbs fading away. Does anyone have an insight or reviews about these?

Ps, For $50 it probably isn't that bad of a buy.

Got some a few years ago. The supplied colour globes were sh!t and brakes looked white after a couple of months. Had to go and get some quality coloured globes.

Aftermarket taillights like the Op is looking at aren't illegal, providing the bulbs are the correct colour for the function they're performing....ie red for the stop/parker light, orange/amber for the indicator and white for the reverse light...

As for looks, that's personal preference which I won't comment on.

Yeah they've relaxed the rules on aftermarket replacement tail lights.

I put some ebay stockies on about 2 years ago and scraped the paint off the garnish as well. Looks pretty cool I reckon. I haven't had any problem with the lights.
Shows up the rest of the car now though

I just got a set. They seem pretty decent besides the indicator being at the bottom no dramas anyway.
